Communication systems in general and wireless communication systems in particular have provided a rapidly expanding and useful range of services, and are continuing to evolve using a multitude of signal processing techniques. The very rapid pace of improvements in VLSI for signal processing applications has lead to the justifiable view of advanced signal processing as a key facilitator of the aggressively growing capacity demands of emerging wireless systems like 4G cellular, Wi-Max, wireless sensor and ad-hoc networks. Consequently, there has been a tremendous and widespread effort on the part of the research community to develop novel signal processing techniques that can fulfill this promise at an affordable price. We hope that the International Conference on Communication and Signal Processing (ICCSP-2011) organized in collaboration with the   Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) will embark a new initiative to bring together academic scientists, leading engineers, industry researchers and scholar students to exchange and share their experiences and research results about all aspects of Communications and Signal Processing, and discuss the practical challenges and the possible solutions. We look forward to your participation so as to make ICCSP-2011 an exciting and memorable event.
